The United States Marine Corps teams with the American Volleyball Coaches Association to honor teams across the country for academic achievement.

The Anderson University volleyball team has been named as a recipient of the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award.

Joining the Trojans were nine other South Atlantic Conference schools (Catawba, Coker, Lenoir-Rhyne, Limestone, Lincoln Memorial, Mars Hill, Queens, Tusculum and Wingate) and 1,265 additional collegiate and high school volleyball programs that earned the accolade.

Girls' high school again had the most winners by category, with 413 teams receiving honors. Women's collegiate teams were well represented; over 50 percent of the membership in all three NCAA divisions won the award, including a record 243 DI programs.

The Trojan volleyball squad posted a stellar 3.44 grade-point average last semester, while owning a 3.50 overall cumulative GPA.
