Westside couldn’t dig out of an early 21-0 hole from the Irmo Yellow Jackets and fell 42-20 Friday night in Anderson. The loss eliminates the Rams from the 4A playoffs.
Irmo’s DeAree Rogers scored all of the Yellow Jackets’ touchdowns. Rogers snagged 3 TDs from Izyah Whiteside, rushed for 2 scores and returned a pick-6.

On the Rams’ ensuing drive, Irmo (8-3) smothered Pete Zamora and forced the ball from Zamora’s hands and into Rogers’ hands, who scored his 2nd touchdown just 6 minutes into the ballgame.
The score held at 14-0 after the 1st quarter.
Fifty-eight seconds into the 2nd quarter, Rogers scored again, this time on the ground to put Irmo up 21-0.

The Rams forced a 3-and-out from Irmo but muffed the punt and squandered the momentum. Irmo capitalized and the Whiteside-Rogers connection happened once more. Irmo led 35-14 with 5:55 left in the 3rd quarter.
The score remained in place until the 4th quarter.
