PIEDMONT -- The Palmetto football team fell to 0-2 on the season with a 28-8 loss to Woodmont on the road Friday night.
Freshman quarterback Isaiah Hill is still adjusting to varsity football, and he had another rough outing. He completed just 4 of 19 passes for 36 yards and 4 interceptions. He did, however, score the Mustangs’ only touchdown of the game at the start of the 4th quarter on a 1-yard run.
Hill finished with 24 rushing yards, just one behind Zach Edwards, who led the team with 25. The leading receiver for Palmetto was Xzorion Brown with 2 catches for 23 yards.
Defensively, the Mustangs had a better showing than their 1st game, allowing only 28 points to Woodmont (3-0) as opposed to the 59 points scored by Seneca. Gabe Harvey anchored the defense with 13 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Next week, Palmetto takes on Wren still in search of its 1st win.
