The Palmetto Mustangs (2-5, 1-2) fell victim to the Berea Bulldogs 42-35 (4-4, 2-2) Friday night at Palmetto. 

The Mustangs’ Xzorion Brown impressed once again, with 9 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. He also returned a kick for a touchdown for the 3rd straight week.

Zach Edwards also had a night -- 16 carries for 77 yards and 3 TDs. 

The game was back and forth throughout. Ultimately, turnovers penned in the Mustangs: 2 interceptions, 6 fumbles, 2 of which they lost.  

Senior linebacker Gabe Harvey paced the defense once more. Harvey had 18 tackles (8 solo), 4 for loss and a fumble recovery in the losing effort. 

Next week the Mustangs gallop to Southside hoping to even their Region 2-3A record at 2-2. 

The Crescent Tigers (2-5, 1-2 Region 1-2A) were unable to contain their hosts, Christ Church (5-1, 1-0), as the Cavaliers won 27-9 in Greenville. 

Christ Church’s Grayson Klue had 119 yards and 2 TDs on 15 carries. 

Crescent travels to winless West Oak next week.
